Description
A fen preserve near Britton, north of Tecumseh. Fens are specific - alkaline wetlands fed by groundwater, home to native plant species you won't find in typical marshes. The Nature Conservancy manages this quiet walking area for habitat and native plants.
This is looking-and-walking terrain, not a structured hiking trail. Best for early mornings, spring or fall, or anyone interested in native flora and bird life. Wetland boots help - ground stays moist. Open 6 AM to 8 PM daily, so accessible for a slow morning or evening outside the usual park rotation.
Good for children who like nature exploration. For parking and more details, check mitecumseh.com.
