May 2026
- May 10 (Sun) – Mother’s Day. Open shops downtown. Gift picks at Selma’s Opal, single-origin chocolate at Harvest Chocolate, tea at The British Pantry.
- May 14-16 (Thu-Sat) – Tecumseh Community-Wide Garage Sales. Three days of buy-and-sell across town, starting 9 AM each day.
- May 15-16 (Fri-Sat) – 17th Annual Art Walk + Mural Blast. Friday 6-9 PM: artists in every downtown shop, live demos, extended hours. Saturday 10 AM-5 PM: four teams paint 4-by-8-foot murals on giant easels in the street, plus Kid Art Battles in the afternoon.
- May 21 (Thu) – Classic Car & Bike Show kickoff. 6-8 PM at 205 E Chicago Blvd. Walk the boulevard, vintage autos and motorcycles right on the street. First of the season – runs monthly through August.
- May 25 (Mon) – Memorial Day Parade. 10 AM in downtown Tecumseh. One of those small-town parades that actually feels like one.
June 2026
- June 18 (Thu) – Classic Car Show + Music in the Park kickoff. Two events, one evening. Car show 6-8 PM at 205 E Chicago Blvd. Music in the Park starts its season at Adams Park, 6-8 PM. Free, outdoor concert.
- June 20 (Sat) – Wack-A-Doodle Day & Pet Parade. 10 AM-5 PM downtown. Family-friendly, pet-friendly, full downtown with games, activities, and the parade itself.
July 2026
- July 16 (Thu) – Classic Car Show. 6-8 PM, 205 E Chicago Blvd.
- July 16 (Thu) – Music in the Park. 6-8 PM, Adams Park.
- July 17-18 (Fri-Sat) – Sun & Sand Sculpture Festival. Five massive sand sculptures built by visiting artists in downtown Tecumseh. The kind of thing you see in a photo and think “wait, where is that?”
August 2026
- August 8 (Sat) – Main Street Multiverse. 10 AM-5 PM. Superhero and comic book celebration on the boulevard. Costumes welcome. All ages.
- August 20 (Thu) – Last Classic Car Show of summer + Music in the Park. Both 6-8 PM. End of season for both.
September 2026
- 3rd Thursday – Music in the Park. Final summer concert at Adams Park.
- Late September – Clinton Fall Festival. Sister-town festival with special train runs from Tecumseh via the Southern Michigan Railroad. Date TBD.
October 2026 – the big one
- October 10-11 (Sat-Sun) – Appleumpkin Festival. Lenawee’s Best Community Festival 9 years running. Antique street fair, flea market, food trucks, crafts, midway rides, carnival games, free make-it-take-it kids crafts. Sat 9 AM-6 PM, Sun 10 AM-5 PM.
- October 10-11 – Kapnick Orchards Apple Festival. 47th annual. U-pick apples + pumpkins + wagon rides. Free shuttle runs between downtown and the orchard.
- Saturdays + Sundays in October – SMRS Fall Color Tours. 3 daily slots (10 AM, 1 PM, 3:30 PM), ~2-hour ride from Tecumseh Station. The marquee fall activity. Book weeks in advance.
November 2026
- Early November – Final Fall Color Tours (SMRS). Last train rides of the season.
- Holiday shopping ramps. Selma’s Opal, Harvest Chocolate, the boutiques start their holiday rotations.
December 2026
- December 4 (Fri) – Downtown Tecumseh Christmas Parade. 7 PM. The annual holiday parade.
- December – SMRS Santa Train. Family ride with Santa. The natural December anchor for a Tecumseh day trip.
Every Saturday, May through October
- Tecumseh’s Farmers Market at The Market on Evans. 213 N Evans St. 9 AM-1 PM. Local produce, farm eggs, baked goods, handmade crafts. Recurring every Saturday May through October. Pair with breakfast at Rosie’s.
- Southern Michigan Railroad excursions. 1.5-hour Saturday rides between Clinton and Tecumseh, May through September.
Year-round at Tecumseh Center for the Arts
The 572-seat Shirley Todd Herrick Theater hosts Broadway-touring shows, chart-topping bands, world-class touring acts, plus local productions (TCA Big Band, Tecumseh Pops Orchestra, Tecumseh Youth Theater).
