Description
Three studio apartments above the cheese counter in downtown Tecumseh.
The Inn on Evans is the fourth thing John and Erika Aylward run out of 102 E Chicago Blvd, and the only one you can sleep in. They opened it in 2009 on the historic second floor, above The Boulevard Market, Four Corners Creamery and Peppalo Chocolate. If you have driven out for the cheese and the salami, you can stay over the top of them.
There are three studios, themed French, Italian and Spanish, each with a living and sleeping area, a kitchen, a full bath, and windows over the downtown street. Private keyed entrance, free parking, WiFi, cable TV, linens, toiletries, and coffee and tea in the room.
Booking is through Airbnb only, where the rates and the calendar live. There is no front desk to call.
What it is actually good for: Tecumseh has very little lodging, and almost none of it downtown. From here the shops, the bakery, the tavern and the Saturday farmers market are all on foot, and Ann Arbor is about 35 minutes back up M-50 and US-23. The Pioneer Wine Trail, Hidden Lake Gardens, the Southern Michigan Railroad and Michigan International Speedway are all inside an easy drive.
