Tecumseh Golf Club

Tecumseh Golf Club is the in-town round option. It sits on Milwaukee Road on the south side of town, close enough that you can finish 18 and be back on Chicago Boulevard for lunch inside 10 minutes. That makes it the easy answer for the day when you want to golf and still hit the shops after.

It runs as a relaxed club with a clubhouse and a real restaurant attached, and the kitchen is the part people quietly keep coming back for. Regulars talk up the clam chowder, a Parmesan crusted baked cod, a Michigan apple-cherry salad that sounds simple and apparently is not, snapper that comes out cleanly cooked, and the surf and turf when they want to push it. Service from the staff gets called out as attentive.

Closed Mondays. Open 7 or 8 a.m. through evening Tuesday onward, with the latest hours Thursday through Saturday. Takeout is on the menu too. Walk-ups tend to be fine on weekdays; weekends are worth a call ahead.
